What happens if acquisition fails

Not every rescue completes. A seller may withdraw, a title problem may surface, or funding may fall short before a deadline. When that happens the campaign moves to acquisition failed, cancelled or expired, and that status is public.

Gifts designated to that campaign are handled under the campaign's published terms: returned to donors, redirected with donor consent, or moved to the General Rescue Fund. The choice is recorded per gift in the ledger and summarised in the Transparency Center.
